A skirt for mama

My girlfriend was visiting last weekend from Portland and we were discussing clothes and post-baby bodies and how to cover them up. I'm still *ahem* a little ways away from that box of jeans in my closet so I decided that this would be the summer of the skirt. (and loose forgiving shirts).

My friend told me about a skirt she has made out of sweatshirt material and how she thought I could make one. On Friday I headed to Targ*t and bought a pair of capri length sweatpants and I followed an amalgam of jean to jean skirt patterns and VOILA!...a skirt, that desperately wanted a bird on it.

I really want to make another one!

Would anyone be interested in a tutorial? I've never done a tutorial, but I could try....

Katie's a smart woman. You and your skirt are AWESOME.

A tutorial, please! I'm not sure I'd actually get around to making one, but if I did, I think it might actually accommodate my not-shrinking waistline. And a girl can hope, right?
